Our approach

Shared decision-making, every appointment.

Your treatment should make sense to you. We make decisions together, and you leave understanding the plan and the reasoning behind it.

You are the expert on your life

Your history, values, culture, faith, finances, and instincts about your own body are clinical information — not obstacles to work around.

I bring the clinical picture

Diagnosis, evidence, realistic timelines, side effects, and what to expect from each option — explained clearly, including what we know and where uncertainty remains.

We decide together

We’ll talk through the options, what each may offer, and what to consider with each one. You choose what feels right for you, and if you need time to decide, you have it.

We revisit on purpose

Plans are reviewed intentionally, not continued on autopilot. If something isn’t working, we reassess and adjust. Changing course is part of good care, not a setback.

The experience

A clear path to getting started.

01

Fill out the pre-screening form

A short form about what you are looking for, what you have tried, and how you would like to work. Nothing to pay at this stage.

02

Hear back about fit

I review it myself and reply directly, letting you know whether this practice is a good match for what you need.

03

Complete the intake packet

Health history, medications, and consent forms, submitted up front so the appointment itself is spent on you rather than on paperwork.

04

Schedule your appointment

You receive times and fees in writing, and your first appointment is scheduled — no screening call in between.

05

Your 75-minute evaluation

A full psychiatric evaluation: history, health, sleep, medications, work, relationships, and what has and has not helped. We finish with a plan you agree with.

06

Build the plan together

Therapy, medication, or both. I lay out the options and trade-offs; you weigh them against your life. Nothing starts without your yes.

07

Follow-ups and honest reviews

Thirty to fifty minutes at the cadence you need, with set points where we look at what is genuinely better, what is not, and what should change.

The whole picture

Symptoms do not happen in a vacuum.

Work, culture, faith, finances, sleep, relationships, caregiving, and daily responsibilities can all affect mental health. Some may be contributing to or worsening symptoms, while others may serve as protective factors that support resilience and well-being. Understanding both helps us see the full picture and decide where treatment can be most helpful.

We also build on the strengths, supports, and coping skills you already have to create changes that feel realistic and sustainable.

Couples

For two people in the same hard season.

Stress rarely affects just one person. Couples work begins with a 75-minute evaluation together, looking at how each of you responds to stress, where communication breaks down, how intimacy may be affected, and what you both want to strengthen. From there, we build a shared plan focused on improving communication, deepening connection and intimacy, and creating healthier patterns in the relationship.

Illness and caregiving

When a child is seriously ill or hospitalized, or your family is navigating a difficult medical season, both partners may cope differently while carrying fear, exhaustion, and added responsibility.

Communication and conflict

When the same conversations keep turning into frustration, defensiveness, or distance, and you want to find a better way to understand each other.

Intimacy and connection

When emotional or physical closeness has changed, and you want to rebuild connection, trust, and a stronger sense of partnership.

Major life transitions

New parenthood, relocation, career changes, grief, and other major shifts that can put pressure on even the strongest relationships.

A note about couples care

When we work together as a couple, the relationship is the focus of treatment. To maintain clear therapeutic boundaries, I do not provide individual psychotherapy or medication management to either partner while treating you as a couple. If individual support is needed, I’m happy to recommend a trusted outside clinician.

Services

Three services, one clinician.

01

Psychiatric evaluation

Seventy-five minutes to understand the whole story and leave with a plan you helped write.

02

Medication management

Prescribing with reasoning you can repeat to someone else, reviewed on a schedule.

03

Psychotherapy

Ongoing therapy with the clinician who also manages your medication — nothing lost between providers.

Psychotherapy is not just for when something is wrong. It can also help you stay grounded, resilient, and connected through periods of stress, change, or increased demands.

A simple first step toward the right care

Start with a short pre-screening form. I review it myself and let you know if the practice is a good fit. From there, you’ll complete your intake packet, schedule your appointment, and then meet with me for your 75-minute evaluation.
