Sabrina Klein, MSN, APRN
Dual board-certified as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and neonatal nurse practitioner, with advanced training in psychiatry at the University of California, Davis and neonatal care at the University of Connecticut.

Why this practice exists.
Over the years, I saw how much better care can feel when there is enough time to listen, think carefully, and understand the full picture. I created KleinMind to make room for that kind of care, with longer appointments, thoughtful decisions, and a treatment plan built around the person living it.
My work has taken me through very different settings, from intensive care and outpatient psychiatry to families navigating crisis and professionals who appear to be holding everything together while struggling privately. Across all of them, I have seen the same thing: people come in with strengths and ways of navigating difficult moments. Good treatment should recognize those strengths, build on them, and help you move forward with more clarity and support.
What patients can expect
- Enough time to tell the whole story, without feeling rushed into a diagnosis or treatment decision
- Clear, direct communication about what we think may be going on, what we recommend, and when more information is needed before making a decision
- Decisions made together, with treatment options explained so you understand the reasoning behind the plan
- Care that looks beyond symptoms, including sleep, medical history, relationships, work, stress, culture, and the demands of everyday life
- A therapeutic relationship built on trust, where feeling heard and understood is part of the treatment itself
- Thoughtful follow-up, with plans reviewed and adjusted rather than continued on autopilot
- Honest referrals when needed, including when another specialist or level of care would serve you better
My philosophy of care
I believe the best psychiatric care treats the person, not just the diagnosis. Your health, relationships, culture, values, responsibilities, and life experiences all matter because they shape both how symptoms show up and what treatment will realistically fit. I also believe the therapeutic relationship we build together is an important part of treatment. Feeling heard, understood, and comfortable being honest creates the foundation for meaningful progress and shared decision-making.
My approach is collaborative and strength-based. We look not only at what is difficult, but also at the resilience, insight, and inner resources you already bring with you. The goal is to help you feel more grounded, function more fully, strengthen relationships, and build tools that support you well beyond our sessions.
When medication is appropriate, I take a careful, conservative approach, using the lowest effective amount and revisiting the need over time. I also consider sleep, nutrition, lifestyle, medical factors, psychotherapy, and evidence-informed supplements when appropriate, so your care remains thoughtful, personalized, and focused on lasting well-being.
A practice built on trusted referrals.
Many of our patients come through referrals from physicians, therapists, psychiatric colleagues, and people who have experienced our care firsthand. We’re proud to be trusted for nuanced, personalized, and holistic psychiatric care that considers the whole person.

A simple first step toward the right care
Start with a short pre-screening form. I review it myself and let you know if the practice is a good fit. From there, you’ll complete your intake packet, schedule your appointment, and then meet with me for your 75-minute evaluation.
